One Year Review: San Diego

Here I am at the public library because I needed the internet. Like my personal crack. Gotta watch those "late night couple of beers nostalgic" postings though. Holy typos. At least the library doesn't have beer. Holy smokes! I have been looking back on my wild year here in the wonderful city I call home and I love it. I am moving again, as my roomate takes off for her own crazy adventures being a hippie in Maui. As others around me delve deeper into excitement, I have slowly been drawn to a more disciplined and quiet life. I mean Jesus F-ing Christ, I think the last year has been the best yet. But life is good going to bed before 5am and waking up (sometimes) even before 10 a.m. I am focussed on my career and health more than ever, ( I even eat breakfast and drink water regularly)and even considering finishing up that pesky degree next year. Going to live with another cousin....ironic as the ticker clicks over to exactly a year gone by and I am back living with a cousin. But she loves yoga and art and animals and only lives 15 minutes away from my work...farther away from the beach, but...;) I think it will be fun. I am so grateful to have extended family out here.
I have navigated the surging tides of romance and men and let the man-harem dwindle into near extinction. Still had a wonderful summer, but I really have more fun with my friends and alone. Pluse none of the people I really pursued felt the same way about me, and vice versa. Irony. I am super excited to announce the arrival of our friend Kate!!! She has joined the friend-ranks of San Diego from San Fran and I have had fun seeing her and getting to welcome her a little bit.
Well, I have to go, but hope you are well and write me back soon guys. XO

Yeah-yer

I spent the day yesterday surfing (badly) on mushy waves in Cardiff and having a blast. Attacked by a seaweed monster, too. Life is good as the changes roll in with the turning of the seasons. As summers fiery humid wings sweep off to distant fall, her wake leaves tanned bodies, sun-soaked memories, new wrinkles from smiling and sore muscles from cartwheels on the beach. Off to Swami's for lunch....more to come. Hope to see everyone at home soon. Steph

Surfing, skinny dipping, moving on up!

I have had an incredible year. Just about full circle here in San Diego...and now more change. My roommate is moving to Maui, I am staying with family for awhile inland, and reconsidering going back to school. CRAZY! The gerbil wheel of menial waitressing and bullshit has no longer been sufficiently greased with enough allure to remain an option. SO- still single, still having wonderful adventures, but tamer ones. Adventures in discipline, surfing, meditation, yoga, fasting, reading, working, and not screeching drunken thoughts to the moon from a tree branch. (Well, not as frequently anyways-but I still ended up naked on the beach and cutting my foot open on the reef two nights ago...) Dated a bunch of men that didn't really snag my full attention... so gave up on the distractions. I want to move from a sensory and ego based reality to a more meaningful and self respecting level. So far so good. Quit smoking when I drink too... Still lots of other things to report: I will be presiding over my first wedding in November!! J. and Jeanette! Sooo cool! And I have been eating shit out there in the waves learning how to surf. More later. Love, me
